Telling the story of sport through challenges allows us to propose a transversal angle that highlights the universal issues of sport in the past and today. Four challenges have been chosen, each of which forms part of the permanent exhibition.
Boxing, tennis, martial arts, wrestling, fencing... only one will win! Sword against sword, face to face in the ring or over the net... This section of the course highlights a second aspect of the competition: the duel. The latter has given rise to true legends, now widely relayed by the global broadcasting media. From the neophyte to the enthusiast, who can still ignore Federer-Nadal matches ? How can we fail to remember the fights of Marcel Cerdan, whose brutal death in 1949 plunged the whole of France into mourning ?
